Aboutthe work.

I’m Ryan Samuels. I photograph and film architecture, interiors, and the craft of building.
My work covers both sides of a project. I shoot completed homes, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and hospitality spaces for the architects, designers, builders, and developers behind them. I also cover the work that gets them there. The trades, the materials, the craftsmanship, the milestones that disappear once the walls close up.
The finished work shows what a team created. The process shows what went into creating it. Together they give a firm a body of work that holds up across a website, a portfolio, a presentation, a project launch, a publication submission.
What I care about is showing the work the way the people who built it see it. That means paying attention to what they’d notice first. The joint. The reveal. The way the light moves through it.
Based in Wilmington, Delaware. I work throughout the Mid-Atlantic, with nationwide travel for select projects.
Intent first
Every project is meant to feel a certain way, whether that is warm, moody, bright, or precise. I start by understanding that intent, then build the photography and motion around it.
A trusted partner
I care about how your work is presented as much as you do. That means being easy to work with, paying attention to the details, and treating the finished imagery with the same care you put into the project.
Built around the light
I plan around sun direction, weather, and time of day, then shape additional light when the project calls for it.
At home on the jobsite
I’m comfortable working on active jobsites, understand proper PPE and site safety, and know how to work around crews without getting in the way.
From the first call to the final images.

The conversation
We start with a call about what needs to be photographed and what matters most to you. I review plans, renderings, and references when they are available.
- 02
The plan
I plan around the light and the path of the sun, agree on a clear shot list, and visit the site first on larger or more complex projects.
- 03
The shoot
I can work independently or alongside your team on site. Designers are welcome to style the space, and I bring my own lighting to match the intended mood.

Selection and delivery
You choose your favorites from a lightly edited selection, and those images receive the complete edit. Final images typically arrive in about ten days.
